Just like that, a few more weeks to go. π“Šπ“‹Όπ“†π“‹Όπ“Š

Phase 2 was a bit more interesting and exciting than I thought. There were a great number of times when I had to use my critical thinking more often than in phase one. Now looking back, Phase 1 was a cakewalk compared to this, especially the Bonus Quizzes. Now, assignments A4 Fun with Functions, A5 More Fun with Functions, and A6 Spreadsheet Analysis with Trailer are great practice that make you use your brain. From those 3 assignments, I can proudly say they helped me understand the Excel program better by making me use the correct formulas and by giving me a scenario like the one in A6, which helped when taking my MO-210 Excel certification exam.

5.7.5 Logical Functions stood out the most for me because at first logical functions seemed hard to understand due to the function having a range, criteria, and sum range that just confused the living hell out of me, but after a few practices I did understand how to use the IF function, and it became a no-brainer to solve problems that required an IF.

To be honest, in my work, I don’t use Excel, but I know that what I’ve learned in Phase 2 will not be forgotten because of how involved I felt with Excel. Hopefully, soon I will get a job where I can use these skills, or maybe another course that requires these skills.

I will make some extra time to be able to be creative and in Phase 3, as well as start actualizing. Yes, I will try to get the highest score I can within the last weeks of this course. So far, I’ve done good, so I should be able to manage.

  1. Hey Christian, I do agree with you on Phase 1 of IS101 being a cakewalk compared to Phase 3. Excel demanded we be more involved.

    I hope you finish strong!

  2. Learning all the functions to complete phase 2 was quite the task. I can not believe how much can actually be done with Excel. Phase 3 is almost done, you will be alright.

  3. Hi Christian! I liked the emoji you added to your title of your blog post. There were definitely moments during this phase when I looked back at Phase 1 and missed how much easier it was. I’m glad we’ve made it through, and I’m looking forward to the possibility of applying what we’ve learned in Excel to our future jobs or even in our personal lives. Keep up the great work!

  6. Hey Christian,

I really enjoyed reading your Phase 2 reflection! It's impressive how you navigated the challenges of Excel, especially with assignments like A4, A5, and A6. Your dedication to mastering the IF function in 5.7.5 Logical Functions is commendable; it's a tricky concept, but once it clicks, it becomes an invaluable tool.

It's great to hear that, even though you don't currently use Excel at work, you're eager to apply these skills in future opportunities. Your proactive approach to learning will undoubtedly serve you well.

Keep up the excellent work! ^-^

  7. Hii Christian! I love the confidence. I definitely need to learn from you! Yeah, A4-A6 definitely tests your knowledge, and it makes Phase 1 look like a walk in the park. I know that you are going to absolutely knock this last phase out of the park!

  8. Hi Christian! I also struggled with the logical functions are first. I have a hard time remember all of the components of the formulas when you need to manually type them. I found that if I use an IF function, the dialog box really helps me set the base for my formulas and makes things easier to manage.

  9. Hey Christian, I agree with you that Phase 2 definitely required a lot more critical thinking, especially when it came to formulas. I still find the IF function a bit challenging, so it’s great to hear that you were able to understand it. I had some prior experience with Excel, but it was mostly entering data and working with basic tables and sheets.

  10. it’s great to see how much growth you’ve experienced in Phase 2! I totally agree that it required way more critical thinking than Phase 1, especially with the Bonus Quizzes and assignments like A6. It’s awesome that those helped you prepare for and pass the MO-210 exam congrats on that.Best of luck in Phase 3 I’m sure your drive and dedication will take you far.

  11. Hi Christian, I also found phase 2 the most exciting and the most challenging. A4-A5 was the most rewarding. It made me slow down, read and take a moment to think of what it was asking me to do. I am glad to hear you pushed through. Good luck on future endeavors! :)

  12. I agree with you, A4-A6 were harder than the labs in LabSim so the challenging of it made it more understanding with the formulas and such. Phase 2 was confusing but with practice it made it all better. Even if we don’t use Excel at work we will still have a new skill.😊
